Theatre Age was established in 1992 by Zulfiqar Khan, a gold medalist from the department of Indian Theatre, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Since its inception, Theatre Age has been a constant source of hope for slum children who have seen nothing else but poverty and drudgery.

 
 

Theatre Age was registered in 1994 with the Chandigarh Administration. Theatre Age was started with a vision of a better future for the under privileged and has successfully transformed the lives of many rag-pickers, shoe polishers, and labourers. Through the unique medium of theatre and acting, Zulfiqar Khan aims to lead the children onto a path of self discovery.

Felicitated as the best creative artiste in 1994, by the Chandigarh Administration, Zulfiqar Khan has directed more than a dozen plays with slum children. Along with theatre, mime and play acting workshops, Theatre Age also conducts educational workshops for children.

Various children, after association with Theatre Age, have completed their basic primary education. Theatre Age also provides vocational training for them. All the workshops are conducted at the Government Senior Secondary School, Sector-24, Chandigarh.

VISION
To transform the lives of street children who are a neglected section of the society, into a self sufficient individuals. We dream of converting them into contributors to the society rather than be seekers of benefits.

OBJECTIVES
